Starting Harvoni what should I expect?
« on: July 16, 2015, 09:18:14 AM »
Hey all. I'm new to this site and wanted to see if anyone could fill me in on taking Harvoni.

I'm geno 1a and have been for about 15 years. I've been having more and more problems wiht fatigue so figured time to take care of this dragon.

A biopsy showed fibrosis 2 and viral load of 9,000,000. My doc thought I could get approved for this new drug so started the process. Everything I've read has me really pumped that this is the wonder drug to finally cure my hepC.

From all i've read i'm really lucky as i got approved for 12 weeks of meds really quickly. My insurnace is blue cross.

so have drugs in hand and planning to start this weekend. wish me luck and please share any tips!

thanks for reading.

I took Harvoni (also GT1a), and am now cured. In the beginning, a mild headache was about the most noticeable side effect. I was in a clinical trial, so I also took ribavirin, so later on, I had lots of side effects. Straight Harvoni shouldn't be too bad.

I wish you the very best as you kick this dragon.
